Lead up to Mayhem.
- The Uso's won a number one contenders match against Enzo and Cass when Cass turned on Enzo costing them the match.
- AJ Lee was named the number one contender for the Women's Championship against Charlotte.
- Goldberg and Bray Wyatt continued their feud. Wyatt claims that Goldberg is the one that Sister Abigail has chose.
- During Miz TV Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal turned on Heath Slater and the Miz joined the 3MB as the leader. Heath Slater is not going out fighting as he called up his old friend Rhino and challenged the new 3MB to a match at Mayhem. Slater and Rhyno enlist Ted Dibiase Jr as their teammate to take down the new 3MB.
- Byron Saxton was able to hold onto the TV Championship up to Mayhem where he will defend the Championship against both Dolph Ziggler and Okada.
- Both Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho become number one contender for the US Championship because Bryan would rather know where both are then having to watch his back the whole match facing one of them one on one.
- With Punk and Austin's feud coming closer they were put in a tag team match together. Austin turned on Punk during the match and beat the crap out of him with a surprising turn. Austin came out then next week with a new attitude saying he was going to beat Punk and prove the crowd he is not the best in the world.
- Styles and Rock had more battles of words leading to Mayhem. Ric Flair who was traded to WCW was announced as the special ref in this big match. Styles thought it was a benefit for him but Flair insures he is going to call this one right down the middle and seems to favor the Rock over old friend Styles.
1. Goldberg vs Bray Wyatt
Goldberg controls the portion of this match but when weird noises begin to fil out the arena Wyatt is able to get the upper hand and comes the closest to beat Goldberg one on one since WCW's return but Goldberg is able to withstand Wyatts tricks and wins with a spear followed by a Jackhammer.
2. TV Championship Match
Byron Saxton (c) vs Dolph Ziggler vs Okada
This match proves how much Byron Saxton does not belong in the ring as he has very little control in this one. Okada shocks everyone as he steals the pin from Ziggler after he hit Zig Zag just like Ziggler has done so many times in the past and becomes the new TV Champion!!!
3. New 3MB vs Heath Slater, Rhyno and Ted Dibiase Jr
Miz, McIntyre and Mahal make easy work of Slater, Rhyno and Dibiase JR in this fast paced but short match.
4. Womens Championship Match
Charlotte Flair (c) vs AJ Lee
This is a very back and forth match with allot of submission holds. Charlotte is able to get the win with the Figure 8 Lock up.
5. Tag Team Championship Match
The Club (c) vs The Uso's
The Club are able to defend their Tag Team Titles dispite a very strong outing by the Uso's
6. United States Championship Match - Triple Threat Match
Daniel Bryan (C) vs Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho
Not surprisingly Owens and Jericho work together in this match. They control a very good portion of the match but Bryan gets in him some spurts of offense here and there. Owens catches Bryan with a spin out power-bomb but him and Jericho argue on who gets the pin. This gives Bryan the chance to get back into the match and takes both of them down. After a couple of close calls Bryan hits the shining wizard on Jericho but when he goes for the cover Owens breaks it up. Owens and Jericho are able to get on the same page and Owens lifts Bryan up for the Pop up Powerbomb but instead sends Bryan behind him where Jericho is ready to nail him with a Codebreaker. Both Owens and Jericho pin Bryan to win the match. Confusion is on who won as JeriKO leave with the US title.
7. Steve Austin vs CM Punk
This is one of the matches of the night that everyone was waiting for and it doesn't disappoint. During the beginning moments of the match Punk keeps it a wrestling match and has the upper hand while Austin continues to turn it into a fight. The crowd is more on Punk's side during the match but there are some dedicated Austin fans cheering him on but he has done well getting heat from the crowd and continues to do so tonight. At the 25 minute mark of the match Punk nails Austin with a GTS but Austin is able to kick out. Punk looks shocked but continues to keep on the offensive up until Austin is able to nail him with a Stunner and goes for the pin but Punk is able to kick out also. The crowd is in shock as Austin stalks Punk who slowly gets to his feet. Punk turns to Austin who sticks his middle fingers out at him but the unthinkable happens as Punk nails Austin with a roundhouse kick to the head. Stunned Austin hits the ropes and stumbles back to Punk who hits him with a GTS. Punk covers Austin for the biggest cover of his career and 1,2,3!!!!! Punk gets the win as the crowd goes wild.
8. Main Event - WCW Championship Match
Special Guest Ref - Ric Flair
AJ Styles (C) vs The Rock
The match starts up with a stare down between Styles and the Rock with Flair standing in the middle of the ring and the crowd goes wild. This match is very back and forth with the Rock surprising Styles that he is able to keep up with him. Styles keeps the Rock on his toes with his fast pace and high flying moves. JR points out that The Rock has never been in the ring with a guy quite like Styles. Once this match hits the 30 minute mark the crowd is all in as Rock catches Styles in a Rock Bottom but goes to lift him and Styles slides free. Rock quickly turns to Punk who kicks him in the gut and nails him with a Styles Clash and goes for the cover and 1,2 NO!!!!! Styles gets in Flairs face yelling at him calling him an old man and to get his eyes checked. This gives the Rock the chance get to his feet and is stalking Styles for the Rock Bottom. Styles turns around and goes to hit Styles with the Rock Bottom but Styles this time elbows Rock in the head and pushes him away sending him into Flair knocking him down. Styles then jumps and hits Rock with a forearm to the head. Styles roles to the apron and beings stalking the Rock looking for the Phenomenal Forearm. Rock gets to his feet and Styles springs off the top rope and goes to hit Rock with the Phenomenal Forearm and
JR : ROCK BOTTOM!!!!
Rock goes for the cover but Flair is out and no ref is in site. Rock looks at Flair who is and begins to help him to his feet. Flair is up to his knees using the Rock to get to his feet and....
JR : LOW BLOW!!!! NO!!!!
Rock drops down as Styles has a huge smirk on his face as Flair struts around the ring and the crowd gives it to them. Styles roles to the apron and gets to his feet and stalks Rock. Rock gets to his feet and Styles leaps off the ropes and nails Rock with a Phenomenal forearm!!!!
