WCW Saturday Night News:
WCW is going to add another weekly show starting this week called WCW Saturday Night. This will feature some of the mid card and lower card superstars to show that they have what it takes to make it up to the main roster. Each show will consist of 3 matches and will run for an hour. There will sometimes be clips from Nitro or in ring or out of the ring segments as well to pass out the time.
Their first show aired 10 Jun and featured Jinder Mahal versus Ted DiBiase Jr.
New Territory
Karen Jarrett has just announced her acquisition of GFW. Notable superstars include Baron Corbin, jack Swagger, Summer Rae and The Von Erichs. She is producing a weekly show called GFW Amped.
RoH Promoting Death Before Dishonor
RoH has been heavily promoting their next PPV, Death Before Dishonor. Their Main Event is a Fatal Five Way for the RoH World Heavyweight Championship.
Territory Wars Trade
In the Territory Wars’ first trade ever, WWF acquired Money Inc. while the NWA acquired the Hart Foundation.
NWA Main Event 10 Jun
In their first televised program, the NWA produced an excellent start to a positive season. Producing some historic mainstays such as the Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith against the Steiner Brothers. It appears that the Hart Foundation might grow into the Hart Family, that remains to be seen, but their strong showing at Main Event. And it wasn’t more apparent when Bret Hart turned on Hulk Hogan in the feature match of the night when they tag teamed against Mr. Perfect and “Ravishing Rick Rude. It remains to be seen where the remainder of the superstars will fall into the company, but it is apparent that Hogan vs. Hart will be the showcased feud.
WWF Monday Night Raw 12 Jun
The show promotes the Money In The Bank PPV Main Event heavily. Triple Threat for the WWF Heavyweight Championship. It does a satisfying job of promoting the MITB match with 3 MITB Qualifying matches, where Adam Cole, Eddie Guerrero and Roman Reigns all advance to the PPV. Ric Flair and Bray Wyatt got some nice air time to start a feud there, which should begin a feud showcased on the PPV, but that remains to be seen. All in all, an enjoyable show but a little heavy on the PPV Main Event.
WCW Monday Nitro 12 Jun
This was the biggest showing this week. Heavily promoting WCW Slamboree, the focus was on character development this week as the majority of superstars got a bit of the spotlight. From AJ Styles and Shawn Michaels to Kevin Owens and Stone Cold Steve Austin to a splash image of Goldberg, this show delivered in spades. The biggest critique from the Territory Wars Universe was the overuse of promos versus wrestling. Arguably the best talent roster in the Territories, only a third of the roster was used for wrestling. Overall, an excellent show.
