WWF RAW
Plenty of debuts on the inaugural WWF RAW. Announce team Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. Mick Foley as GM. CM Punk returning to the wrestling world, the Four Horsemen, The Hart Foundation, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle and Randy Savage. Also two Ultimate Matches debuted. And Ultimate Endurance Match scheduled for the Money In The Bank PPV, and the Ultimate Survival Match for the main event of RAW for the Intercontinental and United States Championships. Internet buzz is all about the rules for the Ultimate Endurance match, and not all of it positive. Confusions about why the match is 3 falls when there is 4 teams. How is the match resolved in three falls if three teams win one match each? The WWF Universe is speculating that a team gets eliminated each pin fall, but that has yet to be confirmed. Hopefully there is a more comprehensive for the WWF Universe in the future. On lighter news, next week’s RAW shows potential as The Rock and John Cena team together against CM Punk and a mystery partner. Some internet polls have The Undertaker and Samoa Joe as odds on favorites, while one poll shows Eugene (formerly Nick Dinsmore) as a clear winner.
WCW Clash Of Champions
Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler are the announce team for the first PPV for WCW, Clash of Champions. A strong PPV from top to bottom, giving the WCW Internet Group plenty to complain about. Including the lack of singles matches on the PPV. Strong singles matches, including one that WCW Message Groups have been clamoring over for weeks now Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Daniel Bryan, indicate that the PPV might have had a more competitive event against the other “two”. Of the matches that were showcased, Ethan Carter III and the Revival versus Ted DiBiase JR and the Lucha Dragons was easily the weakest match on the card. The other five matches were blockbuster matches as they were supposed to, including a surprise win by Shawn Michaels to lead WCW into the next year of wrestling. Polls show that WCW made the correct choice here and as long as he is booked properly, he should garner positive audience reactions in the near future.
RoH TV
The strongest of the three shows, RoH brings excitement, a fresh perspective and lays the groundwork for an exciting few weeks. A curious thread on RoH Reddit, which has record-breaking likes at the moment is mentioning that the show got the highest ratings for the Shinsuke Nakamura vs Zack Sabre Jr match over the main event Mike Bennett vs Finn Balor match indicating that had the Nakamura match been the main event, RoH numbers may have beaten the other two shows by millions of views. From welcomed comedy breaks involving the APA to a poignant segment involving Cesaro and Hero, the show started and stopped leaving the viewers wanting more from the show. The show was not flawless however, with a third Multi-superstar PP V main event for the leading championship. Its saving grace however is the superstars involved, easily four of the hardest working superstars in wrestling today. If these superstars perform to par at the Best of the World PPV, it will easily be a top contender for Match of the Year.
